I suffered for 3 1/2 years with debilitating neck pain, depression, fatigue and numerous other issues. I finally found a chiropractor who HELPED me! He adjusted me, did acupuncture and gave me a natural supplement. One of the key elements was his optimism and constant encouragement. I thought I was at the end of my rope - and he pulled me back! There is a light at the end of this painful tunnel - and it’s called CHIROPRACTIC CARE!!!

I am a person that suffers from chronic headaches and upper back/trap pain. It comes from a profession where sitting at a desk and computer all day long are requirements. I was constantly having to take Advil/Tylenol/Aleve – ANTYHING — that would relieve the pressure in my head. After one adjustment, I felt the difference. Now, not only do I not have to continuously put medicines that I don’t need into my body, but I'm pain free. All thanks to my chiropractor!!

After years of wrist pain and recurring headaches, I finally found a DC that recognized what was wrong with me. I spent years seeing MDs who wanted to do test after test and then surgery. After a few adjustments, my wrists quit hurting and my headaches are all but gone. We need chiropractic included in any health plan. The DCs need to be paid what they are worth!

My husband and I both receive chiropractic care. It has been a wonderful complement to our regular physician’s care. He has relieved much severe pain from frozen shoulders and past injuries. His care keeps my central nervous system balanced, preventing unnecessary medication. There is no doubt how much good he has done us. My husband no longer snores. I have longer active hours in my day. We are no longer in as much pain. We would not want to be without our MD, but neither would we want to be without our chiropractic care. Its preventive nature is obvious to us. It relieves stress wonderfully, preventing all manner of stress-related illnesses. Chiropractic is gaining in popularity. We even have one on staff at one of our hospital now. People don't realize that the education they receive is just as involved as that of an MD. … Chiropractic most definitely needs to be included in health care reform.

After being rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident by a drunk driver, I am lucky to be doing fairly well. I did not lose any work, but I could not be progressing without my chiropractor. Periodically, I return to him for a few weeks for improvement with my chronic symptoms. If this was not covered, I would probably eventually be seeking a surgeon. Wouldn’t that drain my insurance company a lot more than my chiropractic care visit? I hope that whatever is approved [in respect to national health care reform] over the next few weeks or months takes this into consideration. Chiropractic care can be preventive and helpful at the very least.

I have suffered from the most horrible migraine headaches for years. The ONLY REMEDY I have ever found is my chiropractor. She makes room for me even if the day is booked full. She fixes my neck and the headache is gone within an hour. Before I had her, the headaches routinely lasted three days and nights. I NEED my chiropractor to be covered by Medicare.

Chiropractic has made a significant difference in my life! I have not taken a single pain pill since I started going to get adjusted, and I have not had as many issues with my back as in the years before. In Europe, my former home, chiropractic is in its beginning, and I had to go to the ER or orthopedist a lot. All they did was give me shots or some radiation, and the pain always came back. What a relief to have access to chiropractic care now. Imagine all the prescriptions that are saved and all the long-term improvements made and how much money that saves! We should educate more people to take advantage of it, and I am sure we would reduce the cost of healthcare a great deal.

I am new to chiropractic a year ago today. It has opened up my eyes to so many new topics. I am now a very interested chiropractic assistant and see the power of chiropractic help our patients every day. I am living a wellness lifestyle as best as I possibly can and love spreading it to others. When people come into our office barely able to walk or turn their head, it’s great to see them progress to becoming active again. It may not be after one visit or 10 visits, but they do progress and that is with our help!

I was involved in a serious auto accident in 1980. I had severe neck pain with limited motion and sharp shooting pains down my arms. I went to MDs who checked my blood pressure and lungs, and said I was fine. I then went to a chiropractor who used ultrasound on my injured muscles and adjusted my spine. The pain relief started that day, and I went on to full recovery. If I had stayed with medical treatment, I am sure I would have eventually healed but with a lot of residual problems.

I am blessed to have Dr. Eric Benson as part of my treatment team. I am recovering from a stroke I had in Jan 2008 that affected my left side from my toes to the tip of my head. I was experiencing quite a bit of pain in my back, left shoulder and left arm, which Dr. Benson has been treating for a few months, providing relief from the pain so I can take longer walks, and participate fully in stretches and exercises that facilitate my healing. My balance has also improved.

So now that I have found chiropractic as a way out of the cycle of pain and suffering, I am set back by the unwillingness of insurance companies to cover treatments which are effective.

Eight years it took for the right person to see the cause and fix it with a simple adjustment.  Yes, I think chiropractic care is a necessary part to overall health.

In my early 20's with 3 small children, I had to depend on chiropractic care to relieve pressure on the nerves in my neck and upper back. After several treatments, I was cured and didn't go back for many years. If I do need to go back now, it is a one-adjustment appointment and then I'm fine. Chiropractic care is critical to our health.

Please keep my coverage available.  Because of my scoliosis, and my hip out of alignment, if I didn't have the chiropractic service, I would probably be walking like a little 80 year old woman.  My doctor of chiropractic makes all the difference in the world on my back, and my hip

After being involved in a hit and run automobile accident, I was suffering a great deal of pain in my neck and back. With chiropractic care I am continuing to receive relief. Please vote to continue to allow medical insurance to cover these expenses.

Worker's Compensation denied my claims for payment to the doctor as well as my claims for worker's comp. for the injury because "chiropractors are not considered physicians unless they have diagnosed subluxation of the spine".  They did however send me a prescription card by mail.  I was told by a representative for Worker’s Comp that I could make an appointment to see an orthopedic physician at this time.  The injury had already been treated and "fixed" by this time, yet they still encouraged me to see a "specialist".  This to me is a waste of money, and a direct act of discrimination against the chiropractic profession. I would encourage everyone to fight strongly against the discrimination and exclusion of chiropractors in any such worker's compensation case.
